Twenty Things I’m Thankful For This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

I don’t normally make a lot of lists, but thought I’d share a few things I’m thankful for this year. This list is in no particular order.

  1. God’s many blessings and small mercies.
  2. There’s been so much illness and death in my family over past several years, I’m most thankful everyone is okay this year.
  3. I’m thankful for the laughter, tears, beauty, ugliness, inspiration, support, encouragement, instructions and yes, even love my blog family shares with me on a daily basis.
  4. I was still too weak last Thanksgiving to cook dinner. My oldest son who happens to love to cook and is quite good at it prepared our meal. I’m thankful I’m more than able to cook dinner for them this year.
  5. I’m also thankful we have the food to cook. Sadly, some do not.
  6. My wonderful children.
  7. My dear friends who are always there for me.
  8. My hardworking, adorable husband.
  9. Heated homes. I can remember a time when I reveled in the wintry cold and snow. Not so much now. I freeze all the time, so I am eternally thankful I have a home and heat to keep me warm. There are those not so fortunate.
  10. Bluebirds, Robins, Goldfinch, Catbirds, Woodpeckers, Song Sparrows, Hummers, and all the other birds that grace my yard and birdfeeder.
  11.  I’m thankful for the pesky squirrels that raid my birdfeeder and make me laugh.
  12.  I’m thankful for rain.
  13.  And sunny skies.
  14.  Being able to read.
  15.  Books and all the writers and poets out there.
  16.  I’m thankful my son Eric is able to attend college.
  17.  Schools and the teachers in those schools.
  18.  Music and musicians.
  19.  Paintings and sculptures and the artists who create them.
  20.  And last, but definitely not least, I am SO THANKFUL my bath renovation is finally moving forward again.

This is a very small sampling of the many things I’m grateful for this Thanksgiving. I wish you all a very Happy and Stupendous Thanksgiving holiday. Big squishy hugs to you all. See you next week. Elizabeth
