Girl on Beach – Acrylic Painting

Saw the Art Sherpa paint this on YouTube and thought it was beautiful. Had to give it a try, even though I very rarely due figures.  I didn’t paint along but did mine at a later time so it is somewhat different. But I like it. Pretty sad photo of it, but the best I could do with bad indoor lighting and a cheap cell phone.

Deep in the Quiet Wood

Deep in the Quiet Wood

by James Weldon Johnson

Are you bowed down in heart?
Do you but hear the clashing discords and the din of life?
Then come away, come to the peaceful wood,
Here bathe your soul in silence. Listen! Now,
From out the palpitating solitude
Do you not catch, yet faint, elusive strains?
They are above, around, within you, everywhere.
Silently listen! Clear, and still more clear, they come.
They bubble up in rippling notes, and swell in singing tones.
Now let your soul run the whole gamut of the wondrous scale
Until, responsive to the tonic chord,
It touches the diapason of God’s grand cathedral organ,
Filling earth for you with heavenly peace
And holy harmonies.

Giving Thanks

thanksgiving

First Holiday since my husband passed so I’m not in a celebrating kind of mood, but I do give thanks for my sons who will be with me today. I couldn’t let Thanksgiving go by without also giving thanks for all of you. I’m grateful. For all those celebrating Thanksgiving today I wish you a joyful day and for my friends in other countries not celebrating Thanksgiving, as always I wish you the very best. Love you all. ❤

I’ll Be Seeing You

As you can see this is not a blog buddy Friday post. I just want everyone to know that there are some changes happening in my life at the moment and I won’t be around for a while. I don’t know how long this hiatus will be. I’ll miss you guys and if possible I may come on from time to time and repost something from the archives or some art. Now you kiddos be good. No fighting. Here’s another piece of art before I go. (sorry for the horrible photo) Bye for now. 🙂 ❤

Blog Buddy Friday: Geralyn

geralynGood morning everyone. I’d like you to meet Geralyn over at Where My Feet Are. Geralyn is a newer blog buddy of mine and the title of her blog pretty much says it all. It’s about her journey through life both physically and emotionally.

When I was thinking about Geralyn this morning several words came to mind, beautiful, vibrant, warm, witty, strong, and seeker. She is all these things, but I believe seeker is the one I relate most to her. She always looks for the adventure in life whether it be a normal day or a true adventure off in some exotic locale.

She says it best: ” I’m often dreaming of “what’s next” and “what else can I be passionate about” while also trying to remind myself to stay in the day, in the moment, where my feet are.”…Geralyn

At present Geralyn is training for a marathon. Can you imagine? Well I guess you can imagine if you happen to be a long distance runner. I can see hiking all day, but running? Ha! Not likely. But yes, Geralyn is a runner and puts as much passion into this pursuit as she does in every other aspect of life. Her thought provoking posts will entertain and charm you. She also has fabulous photos. Take some time and visit with Geralyn at https://wheremyfeetare.wordpress.com. You’re going to love her! 🙂

Blog Buddy Friday: Maniparna Sengupta Majumder

maniparnaMy blog buddy Friday posts continue today as we visit with Maniparna Sengupta Majumder at Scattered Thoughts. Maniparna resides in Kolkata, India and her blog is similar to mine in that she writes and posts on a large variety of topics. You’ll find lovely photos, poems, short stories, book reviews, product reviews, childhood memories, and just random thoughts.

Maniparna is a strong personality, intelligent, beautiful and charming. Her blog reflects this in every way. In her own words she says, “What I feel, I write”. I’ve found this to be very true as I’ve visited her over the months. Maniparna has strong opinions on different issues and isn’t afraid to voice them. She’s also a delightful lady and it’s been a great pleasure getting to know her better.

Take a little time, drop in at Scattered Thoughts and say hello to Maniparna. You’ll love her and her blog. I know I do. 🙂
