Spring Mill State Park

Revisit history in Mitchell Indiana at Spring Mill State Park Historic Village or commune with nature on the many hiking or biking trails and if you love space travel stop in at the Gus Grissom Memorial. I adore this place so I took Eric here today and wanted to share the photos. Hope you enjoy.     Thanks for the tour! Love the stone and log buildings, the stone wall and arch, the quilt, the old bed, and Eric trying to stand up in that room. Either’s he’s tall or that room is short.

    A park and a museum all in one, or so it seems. Of course I went straight for the shoes but lots of beauty here. Will have to look more carefully when I’m not on my iPhone.

    Great pictures, Elizabeth. Reminds me a little bit of Sturbridge Village in MA but on a larger scale. It’s fun to go back in time and see how people lived. Beautiful place to walk around and spend the day. Hope you’re well!

    I’m doing okay, Geralyn. Thanks for asking. 🙂 I love the place and would like to visit Sturbridge Village. I’ve always wanted to visit Colonial Williamsburg too. Maybe some day since my sister-in-law lives in Williamsburg. I guess these types of places wouldn’t appeal to everyone, but they sure are my cup of tea.     I so enjoyed this post Elizabeth! Thanks for the link to the State Park but I enjoyed your shots more. I really got an idea of what it must have been like to live in one of the cabins in the 19th century. I see Eric is quite tall (and handsome!!). If he had had to live there he would have ended up with a stoop or a crick in the neck! A grand day out. Take care and enjoy your week-end xx

    It was a glorious day to be sure, Clare. And yes, Eric is quite tall. It was so funny seeing him walk around the room with his head all bent over. I’ve never liked being a shortie, but there are some advantages. 😀 Have a lovely weekend. ❤

    Glad to see that you’re having an adventurous Summer! Have been looking for you in my lists of “follows”, but didn’t “see you” and began to worry that you weren’t feeing “up to par”….Glad to see that you’re ok!!! Nice pics, Kiddo! (PS I started working on my “artistic side” and have “done” 2 pictures using pastels. I’m thinkin’ I may be the next Picaso, so you better be prepared for some competition!!!! :)p

    Elizabeth, this looks like a great place to visit. Love the pictures, they gave me a great visual tour and reminded me of a park my dad worked at when I was a teenager, Collier Park in Oregon. Thanks for sharing!
