Goodbye

I am leaving the blogging world. I may be back someday, but most likely not. I’m tired of all the nasty, disgruntled people out there coming here and spewing their noxious waste all over my home on the net. The latest (left on my Dark Angel post) made me laugh, then annoyed me, as was intended of course. But regardless, it was just one more in a long line of similar crap posted by small minded people who are so dissatisfied with their petty lives, they must attempt to make all others miserable. I’m just tired of it all and have too many other things to do than deal with it anymore. So they win and I’m gone. I love all you friends who have conversed with me over the years and wish you all happiness and good things in life. Good bye. ❀ ((HUGS))

  2. Elizabeth, this is sad news. You have been and are an anchor for many bloggers over many years. I hear and understand why you are choosing to step away. At the same time, I will never allow others who spew to discourage me (and others) from sharing positive stories, messages and in your unique case, beautiful photographs, too. Please take time to reflect on how many people’s lives you have positively touched, if not affected. And when/if the time feels right, rejoin this amazing community of bloggers. Your presence will be missed.

  3. Elizabeth: I’m very sad to read this post and will miss your presence. I would think that the positives would surely outweigh the negatives, especially by those who type in all-caps! Whatever you decide, I wish you well and hope that we’ll cross paths someday. All the best to you. Smiles…:-)

  5. I’m so sorry it has come to this for you, Elizabeth. Maybe later on if you feel like coming back to the blogging world you can do it under a different name for the blog. It’s a shame that others cannot just keep their mouths shut and just go away when the see something they don’t like. After all we are here to please them and if they don’t like our peaches, as it were, the sure don’t have to shake our tree by CHOOSING to follow our blogs. Blessings, Natalie πŸ™‚

    • Obviously the thing she saw that she didn’t like was me. πŸ˜€ But that’s okay. She was just one more in a long line of people spouting their crap online. I was actually upset about something else when I read her comment and became angry. Thank you so much for showing such kindness. ((HUGS)) πŸ™‚

  8. Dear Elizabeth, do you really need to make such decision because somebody told something nasty? Don’t you know yourself? Are not you proud of your accomplishments?
Just control comments and throw away what you don’t like! Your blog is your publishing house, it is your property! Best to you!

  9. Elizabeth, I am so sorry that happened. You must feel really crappy; I can see why you are leaving. You have been building up to this for a while. At least, just take a break and maybe you’ll be back?

    • Thank you so much, Hollis, I’ve been upset about another matter, but you know what happens when you’re under a lot of stress. The small things (like internet crap) seem so much more important because you’re in a more vulnerable place. But things are looking up in some regards so I’m trying to be upbeat as well. πŸ™‚

  10. How awful, Elizabeth. I’m so sorry. You are one of my most favorite bloggers.
the weirdest thing is that I thought of you several times today, since early this morning, and wondered how you’re doing. I also wanted to reach out and ask your permission on something.
I’m wishing you all the best, and I hope you’ll keep in touch.
A big hug back to you,
    Cynthia.

      • I plan to do another “Blog shop” to highlight bloggers who are artisans/artists, and wish to include you. I wonder if you prefer me to spotlight your books or your art, and if you sell the latter online.

It’s my gift to some of the very creative people in my blogging community.

        • That is such a wonderfully kind thing for you to do. Thank you. As for which, I leave it to you. I do a few commissioned art pieces, but I don’t sell online. Well not yet, although I’ve been thinking seriously about it lately. So you go with whatever you prefer and I’ll be thrilled either way. πŸ™‚

    • You’re so sweet, Jill. Thank you for all your support and kindness. I’ve been very upset about some things lately and I guess I just needed a break. Will explain in my next post. Hope you are warm and cozy today. It’s frigid and snowy here. YUK… 😦 Have a great day.

      • You’re welcome, Elizabeth. Sometimes taking a break helps you see things more clearly. Take care of yourself and please keep the snow up your way! It’s pouring the rain here today, but temperatures are expected to be in the low 30’s tomorrow…double yuk! xo

  19. I understand how you feel as I went through something similar and almost stopped blogging, I also wrote about it – http://blessedwithastarontheforehead.wordpress.com/2012/06/03/to-blog-or-not-to-blog/ . I am so glad I didn’t stop.
My wish is that you reconsider your position. Take a few days days and think about the reason why you have this blog. Do not stop because of other people, it is not a question of winning or losing, it is a question of being true to what speaks to your heart.
If you still want to quit this blog I will be sad to see you go but I wish you only the very best! Many blessings! πŸ™‚

  21. I ticked ‘Like’ though of course I don’t like . I’m so sorry you’ve decided that these nasty, malicious small minded people should win. You’re valued Elizabeth, they’re not. It’s certainly not easy but you should learn to rise above these ridiculous comments which really aren’t even worth your attention. You should wipe them and block the person who made them. Perhaps in some cases even report them.
If you go you’ll be missed and these fools sensing a victory will rush to do the same to someone else. We become less by your absence.

  22. Hello Elizabeth,
I’m one of the ‘silent readers’ who have always enjoyed your writing. I am very sorry to learn of your unpleasant experience. I agree, it’s the downside of the Internet, and too many people don’t think before they write. I respect your decision of course, but wanted to let you know your work has been enjoyed here in Japan.
    Best wishes,

  27. Sad indeed. I get sucker punched now and again. But they never come back after I trace their I.P. address and let them know that I know exactly who they are sometimes or where they are. I imagine is cares them because they thought they were oh so anonymous. My nasties only post once or twice. Then I trace and put em in their place. All the best to you!

      • That’s great, just hold your head up high and keep blogging. I think the amount of good people in the community far out weigh the not so good people, even though negative comments seem to have a deeper impact. if they comment negatively, just don’t respond at all and immediately spam their comment. You’ll be giving them no fuel, they will get bored and move on, and their statements will also hurt less if you’re able to walk away. Glad you’re sticking around πŸ™‚
