Luminaries’ resplendent brightness_

Their symbols leisurely adorned,

Become the clay of artist_

Chiseled permanence stands for.

Stolen jewels of heavenly fire_

Taken for their beauty bright.

Brushes used to catch the wonder_

Powerful visions of rebirth.

High above the hilltops gleaming_

Rivers run in luminous mirth.

Colors drenched in stardust silver_

By the hand of earth’s beginning.

I'm a novelist, poet, and artist. I love books, nature, art, and gardening. I'm a rock hound and there's a photo of me with a cool fossil rock on my about page, I take a lot of nature pictures. The background here is one of mine. Unfortunately I recently lost my wonderful husband, but I'm grateful to have the blessing of two beautiful sons. elizabethmeltonparsons.wordpress.com is © Elizabeth Melton Parsons 2007-2018. 1. This is absolutely well-expressed and beautifully written! Especially the closing line, “By the hand of earth’s beginning” – absolutely stunning! =)

  2. Thank you so much, Naima, for the wonderful comment. Sorry I didn’t answer your comment sooner. My puppy chewed my wireless modem cord in two. So I’m at the library until it’s replaced next week.

  3. I particularly like ‘Rivers run in luminous mirth’ and ‘Colors drenched in stardust silver’. You really are very good at painting pictures with words.

  4. What a wonderful blog! Great colors and poetry! It really looks so appealing! Congratulations!
