I'm a novelist, poet, and artist. I love books, nature, art, and gardening. I'm a rock hound and there's a photo of me with a cool fossil rock on my about page, I take a lot of nature pictures. The background here is one of mine. Unfortunately I recently lost my wonderful husband, but I'm grateful to have the blessing of two beautiful sons. elizabethmeltonparsons.wordpress.com is © Elizabeth Melton Parsons 2007-2017. 1. I can only say that I vehemently DISagree with the content and tone of the articles contained in the links you provide in this post, Liza. Ill- if not positively uninformed, alarmist, one-sided and dangerous. Sorry to be so negative, but this happens to me one of my areas of expertise :-). The cancer story – someone is being prosecuted in Holland for dissuading a woman from receiving treatment for breast cancer. Instead herbs were used, which were no use at all. The woman died at age 45. Another woman died within 7 months of receiving a diagnosis of cervical cancer, something which could have been prevented using the HPV vaccine. Vaccinating young teenage girls against HPV does NOT mean they can go forth and do you-know-what from the word go, it means that they are protected if and when they commence – later in life hopefully.

  2. And I have personal knowledge of the dangers of vaccines. As I believe I mentioned before, my son was happy and healthy until receiving the MMR vaccine. Within hours he became violently ill and was left permanently mentally handicapped. Fact…not alarmism. Not only that, but less than two years later he contacted measles. Not only did the vaccine disable him, but did NOT protect him from the disease either.
That aside, it wasn’t the point. The point is that as American citizens we have certain rights and those rights are in danger. As Americans we should have the right to choose. I’m not against all vaccines…But I am against forced vaccination, (unless we were in the middle of a national, deadly epidemic of some kind). And I am definitely against forced vaccinating against non fatal illness.
Lets take the chicken pox vaccine for instance. It’s a reqirement for all children attending school. Why? Chicken Pox is not a deadly disease except where rare complications arise.
As for the HPV vaccine, it doesn’t protect against all cervical cancer. (That death may have occured even with vaccination). Since this is a newer vaccine, a lot more time will have to pass before we know whether it protects against any cancer or what the long term effects will be for those vaccinated. At present, I’m neither for nor against it. I am against anyone being forced to take it and I’m against vaccinating young non sexually active girls. I do agree with you on one point…I don’t believe it would cause all girls to believe that they have a license to be sexually promiscuous. (some maybe)
I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this issue of forced vaccination, Guido. Liza
