My hubby had these guys carved into a couple of stumps of our downed trees for me. They were done by a very talented, young wood sculpter who uses chainsaws. The darker one is black walnut, the lighter one maple. I still can’t decide which I like better. You can’t tell from the photo, but the maple wizard’s hair goes flying out around the stump on the sides and gives it a wind blown look.

I'm a novelist, poet, and artist. I love books, nature, art, and gardening. I'm a rock hound and there's a photo of me with a cool fossil rock on my about page, I take a lot of nature pictures. The background here is one of mine. Unfortunately I recently lost my wonderful husband, but I'm grateful to have the blessing of two beautiful sons. elizabethmeltonparsons.wordpress.com is © Elizabeth Melton Parsons 2007-2017. 1. If you should ever find yourself in Stornoway, there is a large number of woodsculptures in the local country park (the Castle Grounds). Will dig them out and put them on my blog.
